Here at Zaki Duafe, it is our mission to embrace, cultivate, adorn, and nurture your naturally textured tresses. We believe that natural hair should be celebrated and prized. Zaki (pronounced zah-key) is a combination of the owner's daughters names. Like any nurturing mother she decided to name the salon after her babies. Duafe (pronounced Du-wah-fay) is the Adinkra symbol of the wooden comb. It is the African term for beauty and adornment, femininity, cleanliness, and self-love. We felt that it was appropriate when choosing a name and symbol for what we strive for while nurturing and helping to uplift those taking this natural hair journey.
